What are eyelash extensions made from?
Eyelash extensions are made a poly-fiber material that is made to resemble real mink or real silk.
What is the application process?
During your eyelash extension application, you will comfortably lie down with your eyes closed. The application is painless and relaxing. Clients typically fall asleep then awaken to longer, thicker, darker and more eyelashes. During the application an individual natural lash will be isolated, then; expertly bond one eyelash extension to one natural lash. This technique creates a seamless look and feel as if these eyelash extensions were your own. The process can take anywhere from 1.5 – 2.5 hours (differs per Client).
How long will the eyelash extensions last?
With proper care, your eyelash extensions can last up to a month. It isrecommended you come back every 2-3 weeks for a touch up to keep them looking neat and full. Just be careful not to use oily products near your eyes as this will start breaking the bond.
Can I wear mascara?
Stay away from mascara entirely as it leaves the extensions crusty and damaged. It's only acceptable if you're at the end of your cycle and will be getting a fresh set in a few days. Apply only at the tips of the lashes and avoid the root as some mascaras can break down the glue.
Can I use my regular cleanser/make up remover?
When removing eye makeup it is important to use an oil-free remover or cleanser as this is most compatible with lash extensions. Avoid using cotton wool as this will stick to the eyelash extension. Be gentle when drying and always brush afterwards.
How often do I need to get fills?
Lash extensions can last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes. That said, because each person’s lash growth is somewhat variable (just hair growth), it is recommended you get a fill every 2 to 3 weeks to maintain a full look.
How expensive is it?
You get what you pay for with this treatment. The cost really depends on the artist/ salon you decide to go to. There are some places that charge as low as R200, but the quality will probably not be as good as if you splurged on pricier extensions. You really don't want someone inexperienced getting up close and personal with your eyeballs! More reputable salons could charge up to R850 or more for one application that lasts about 3 to 4 weeks. So, it really depends how much you're willing to spend to forgo your daily mascara application.
